There will not be a Spring 2026 issue of Hyco Lake, River City Area and SoBo Halifax Magazines. We are in the process of closing NCVA Media, LLC which will bring the 17 year history of Hyco Lake Magazine, and our two other publications to an end. Although this may seem to be sad news, we are going out on top. Our winter issue was actually our third largest.
It has been an honor to serve our community. The entire time we stayed focused on our mission statement:
Enhancing our community with interesting stories,
beautiful photography, and information
while bringing together residents and local merchants.
The tag line that appeared at the top of our credits and table of contents was an announcement to all of our readers as to the intent of our organization:
Enhancing Our Community One Story at a Time!
To say that we are proud is an understatement. Over the past eight years we have grown from about 7,000 printed copies of each issue to 23,000!
But as time marches on, and expenses continue to climb, it has become increasingly difficult to perform our duties while maintaining an acceptable profit margin.
Our writers, graphic artist, editors, and photographers worked tirelessly on each issue over the past eight years for which we are very grateful. And our advertisers made all of this possible. These publications were 100% funded by the advertising fees they paid to appear in each issue. It has been an honor to “bring together residents and local merchants” with “interesting stories, beautiful photography, and information!”
