MainStreetArtCollective.com
Take Main Street Art Collective, for instance. Walking into this space is like stepping into the creative heart of Danville. Main Street Art Collective was created out of a passion that owner Cheryl Sutherland had to provide a place for local artisans to sell their handmade items. Cheryl believes that “art” comes in many forms and the shop showcases a wide variety including paintings, photography, jewelry, pottery, souvenirs, dog collars, and even local honey and elderberry syrup. Some artisans repurpose goods such as tobacco sticks to make decor or use silverware and coins to make beautiful jewelry.
Part of what makes this place so unique is the space it offers. In the back is the store’s own private workshop; Cheryl opens this for special events and classes – a fun, collaborative space where you can create and connect with locals of the community. As a gathering place for classes, events, and game nights, Main Street Art Collective is your one-stop shop for one-of-a-kind finds that help support over 75 families within the community.
